How Long Can A Stent Remain In A Kidney What Effect Does A Restricted Ureter Have On Long-term Kidney Function?

What effect does a restricted ureter have on long-term kidney function? - how long can a stent remain in a kidney

In August last year, I had noticed pain in acute renal failure Ultrasonic my left kidney was enlarged and that does not drain properly, X-rays showed no stones, but a CT scan revealed a stone 6mm 2 / 3 of the way my ureter.

In November of this ureteroscopically was removed with a holmium laser. After a further pain and a CT scan in January showed that my kidney was enlarged and still does not drain properly. Thus, 8 This month I had another pylogram with ureteroscopy, and a severe narrowing caused by scar tissue from the stone, or the procedure to remove the stone causes found.
I must go back to the ureter and developed to provide a stent for a month.

My question is, since my problems Rund in August of last year - 7 months ago, not how long it will take for a damaged kidney will, if the restriction of the flow of urine? If damage be undone?

Thank you for reading the time and any help you can give me.

Hello,

Poor understand you perfectly, I went through the urethra to increase operations, there are about 18 months. I say that you notice a difference immediately. In view of the long-term damage that will require an analysis of their kidneys to see if there is a scar on the damage to the kidney itself, if not long escape.

Be sure to drink plenty of water is at least 2.5 liters per day to help cleanse the kidneys. Absolutely no tea or coffee.

Oh, just add your information, I had a stent in one month is not too good, and its fine, I'll give you a good idea, but unless you consult your doctor.

Best wishes though its terrible.

I read your question / message. Firstly, I have sympathy with you and I know how painful that have suffered the problems of the kind that bad. I described a few years ago, as if struck in the back with a hammer. Acute pain can not escape - thanks to God for pethidine.
But what you get answers on this website you will find to be careful. Only more pain will be made available. Expand your thoughts and concerns to your advisor. No one else heals. Tell your worries and fears / worries and pain. They are people, you know, but you must tell them.
Return to your doctor. I love so much at heart the certainty that it will gradually improve, and that that right mess.

Extension may urethra by inserting a sound (an instrument for the thin stretch of the urethra) will be tried under local anesthesia. If the urethra, enlargement is not possible, the surgery may be necessary to correct the situation. Surgical options vary depending on location and length of the stricture. Cystoscopy visual urethrotomy may be all that is needed to stricure small. A urethral stent insertion for cystoscopy can also be used. The aim is to make the scar to stretch without additional scars. In patients with epithelial stenosis alone (without the intervention of the corpus cavernosum) curative. The stents are designed to be embedded in the wall of the urethra and provide a clear light. They are the most successful short stenoses in the length of the bulbar urethra. ComplicatedThe ions are generated when the stent is placed behind the bulb of the urethra, pain for the patient in sitting or during intercourse. Other complications relate to the migration of the stent.
I'll add a link that carries the information that you might find interesting.

I was raised to remove a stent in place for 2 weeks after my last ureteroscopy, kidney stones. I hate to say it, but it was very nice. It was really unpleasant, but perhaps you can take pain medications. I have it if I were you.

I hate to leave a response, so pessimistic ... I is not normal, but the best of a stent, if you do!

I had 3 adjuvant (surgical micromanipulation) ureteroscopes and 2 pass I send a lot of positive sentiment for months.
